a few days ago my PC got infected with this html:iframe-inf avast did not detect it until i ran a full system scan, when it asked me what to do with it i deleted and did a boot time scan. the scan turned up nothing so can i be sure that it was deleted off my system? thanks
Clean, Quarantine, or Delete?
http://antivirus.about.com/b/2007/03/11/clean-quarantine-or-delete.htm
for a second opinion check your computer for malware with this
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.51.1 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always make sure the program is updated before you scan
click on the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
you may post the scan log here if anything is found
hello thanks for the reply im currently scanning with malwarebytes but avast after i deleted it it turned up clean so if malware bytes turns up clean will i have nothing to worry about?
yepp…
HTML iframes are malware inserted in websites, usually to redirect or/and so more malware can be downloaded… do a google search on the name
the scans so far turned up nothing. anybody know how to protect against html:iframe-inf or do you just have to stop visiting the web sites? so i guess its gone now that avast has deleted it and turned up nothing else. thanks

anybody know how to protect against html:iframe-inf or do you just have to stop visiting the web sites?yepp....keep avast updated and turned on ;D avast! may be the best AV when it comes to detecting infected websites, but no AV have 100% detection
and stay away…hmmm that would mean stay away from every website as you dont know what website is hacked until avast alarms on it
