just downloaded 4.8 from avast 
clean install, no problems so far on first scan… just a few questions, will mbam conflict with avastav or can i have both? also any tips for a noob, such as configuration… and thankyou
mbam and avast will never conflict with each other, in fact, having both gives an excellent protection
configuration, like settings? just set it to default…

I concur with the above. MBAM all good. Default settings all good. Scan maybe once a week, becoming less often if nothing (or not much) is ever found. (I scan about once a month, or whenever “symptoms” happen. Which has not been for a long time.)
It’s a good idea to ask about anything Avast (or computers in general) here if you’re unsure.
If more folk did as you, maybe half the problems some folk encounter (such as having two AV’s) would not occur, so good on you for checking.
