Help appreciated - BV:AutoRun-E [Wrm] - Now lots of worms/trojans

Hello Everyone,

Last week my computer was infected with BV:AutoRun-E [Wrm], I don’t know how it worked its way in but all of a sudden avast went balistic continually detecting the autorun.inf file in both hard drive partitions. I did a scan and that didn’t help so restarted and did a boot scan. That seemed to help to a small degree. Avast no longer deteced the virus. However internet explorer started doing really trippy things not letting me change its settings etc. I then logged into safe mode on the computer and restored back to before I got the virus. This seemed to be the fix. Sadly not, I have been infected with a new worm/trojan every couple of days. On and off the computer has been behaving oddly. Last night for example the computer was having a 3 hour think-a-thon. I did a scan and bang sure enough worm!

In the next few posts I have included my hijack this report.

Any guru like help would be fantastic and much appreciated.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate
Avast Home (always update to latest version)
Windows Defender

Albeit the above being ineffective. This is the first virus I have had in years using that combination.

this worm is a pain in the ass. i’ve had it for almost two months now an cant get rid of it.

These files look random generated, which viruses do. BUT DONT DO ANYTHING WITH THEM YET. WAIT FOR AN EVAGELIEST

C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe
C:\Windows\System32\hkcmd.exe
C:\Windows\System32\igfxpers.exe

C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe C:\Windows\System32\hkcmd.exe C:\Windows\System32\igfxpers.exe

These files are fine. The “IGFX” files are related to Intel Graphics drivers.

As for the HKCMD.exe is also related, having to do with the on-screen commands for the caps lock, volume, and other keys, etc.

As far as the autorun worm goes, I haven’t had any experience with it, so I can’t suggest anything other than to run boot-time scans with avast, and to run malwarebytes scans. Hopefully, someone else with more ezperience will come along to help.

I suggest Autorun Eater and CCleaner.

Eveyone should have autorun disabled so this doesnt happen i use Tweakui alot easier to shut off auto run then the long process by microsoft. And microsoft is addressing the autorun issue in its next update i read.
