You need to remove it, probably, from the autosandbox settings if this is the case.
What is not showing here? Any error message?
Which exclusions did you add?
i need to exclude an .exe file… majicJack.exe to be precise.
we need to exclude it so i may be able to use it. how? but it is not showing it.
If everything is working, you shouldn’t exclude anything… :
Please, upload majicJack.exe to www.virustotal.com and post back the results.
all I need is to exclude this.
but every time I go to “exclusions” on my avast, .exe files do not show, only folders do.
the company says that I need to exclude it, and that is all i need to do, exclude it.
You can exclude files as well as folders.
Just write down the full file name and path.
You can use wildcards * and ?
Yeah, when it’s already moved to chest, it won’t show, pretty much normal. I really don’t see what’s so difficult with entering the path into the form really. Like
C:\Program Files\MyStupidApp\stupid.exe
Paste it there, press enter. Done.
P.S. WTF is magicjack?! For sure wouldn’t exclude such crap : :o 2009 Product of the Year? Yah sure. There is absolutely no reason to exclude it in antivirus. If it needs firewall rules, fine. However if some junk for making phone calls cannot behave with antivirus, wipe it.
i’ll try
Are we talking about this great piece of equipment: http://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany/majic-jack-a44386.html???
Sounds great… ;D
Absolutely does not surprise me, given the “professional” scamware-like/rogue-like website plus the apparently shitty SW they bundle with it. Would not be surprised if it actually contained malware/spyware or whatever. It’s reputation even made it to Wikipedia - oh, and they are filing lawsuits against reviewers of their crap. I’ll buy 5 today, for sure. ;D ;D ;D
MagicJack Loses Junk Suit Against Site that Revealed it Spied on Users
In the article, Boing Boing revealed that many aspects of MagicJack's site were fake -- namely its user counter was rigged to be a self-incrementing variable (regardless of actual user numbers) and the help service produced inaccurate results, stating that it was "scanning" your system and reporting "Your MagicJack is functioning properly" even if you didn't have one installed. More importantly, Boing Boing pointed out that the EULA – not available at the point of service or on the company’s website – signed away users’ rights. The EULA allowed MagicJack to snoop on your calls and use them to target their ads at you. It also contained legal languages that attempted to sign away your rights to sue them (such provisions usually don’t hold up in court).
MagicJack dials wrong number in legal attack on Boing Boing
Instead, the statements clearly constitute the opinion of the author that analyzing phone numbers for purposes of targeted advertising amounts to "spy[ing]," "snoop[ing]," and "systematic privacy invasion."
