HELP - avast does NOT detect trojan!

Hello,

I am a registered user of avast! 4.7 Home Edition, since November 2006.

About 2 hours ago, despite avast (with the latest updates installed), my computer is infected with a trojan and it keeps on mail bombing!

I performed a full scan with options; thorough + archive files ON.
Unfortunately, avast! reports that my system is clean. Although my e-mail program is not active, the mail scanner icon is active on the toolbar, and my system keeps on mailing…

Any recommendations?

Kind Regards,
Mert

If a virus is replicant (coming and coming again), you should:

  1. Enable/Disable System restore on Windows ME or Windows XP. System Restore cannot be disabled on Windows 9x and it’s not available in Windows 2k.

  2. Clean your temporary files. You can use the Windows Advanced Care features for that.

  3. It will be good if you download, install, update and run other trojan remover tools: a-squared, Free AVG Antispyware or SUPERantispyware (trojan removers). Some users recommend Spyware Terminator.

  4. After you get clean, use the immunization of [url=SpywareBlaster or, which is better, the Windows Advanced Care features of spyware/adware cleaning and removal.

If you succeed, after detecting the virus infected file, please, send it to virus@avast.com in order to help avast to improve detection.
