I have windows xp home. Since installing avast my media player, file search, windows explorer, and who know what else is not working…I get the ahascr.dll error. Please send concise instructions for fixing this. The ones I see posted here are very poor directions.

Well call me stupid but I’ve read those threads and they refer to other threads. Please start from scratch and give me the fix. Thank you for the reply.

What version of Avast are you using?
What os?
What have you already tried?
