HELP! Avast Pro 4.8.1368 (Memory Usage Problem) XP-SP3

Please Help!
Avast Freezing my PC!
I formated my PC and installed a new fresh Win XP-SP3
then installed Avast 4.8 for the first time of my life!!!
my system is slow and keeps freezing since i installed Avast!

especially when i play Farmville!!! :smiley:
Firefox keeps freezing and then it shows me that system out of memory!
i had no such a problem before i install Avast AntiVirus!

take a look at my Task Manager’s pic please.

Any Help!!!

cuz most of people here in the forums recommends 4.8!!!

I’m using avast v5 since it is Beta 2, works 100% without problem with my Windows 7…

in my second computer, windows XP, no problems at all with the latest edition v5.0.396…

you have the choice now, i prefer that you try it man …

There’s nothing in the task manager picture that shows that you’re using too much memory or anything hogging the CPU.

I used to run 4.8 with XP-SP3 and then version 5 beta with no problems, with FF3.5.

Is there any more information you can give us?

Maybe try a repair install on version 4.8… ?

Is there anyway you can upgrade the memory on your computer? 512Mb is about the bare minimum you can run really.
