I cannot move them to my virus chest in avast. unfortunatly when i reinstalled avast antivirus they changed the layout and i cannot find where past scan logs are now to give specific trojan names… without doing another scan. here are logs:

NEW here
Avast has found Virus , why didn’t Avast catch Virus before it got on my machine ???

Hi if you start your own topic I will have a look and see why http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

ok, i ll have to run full scan because thats what foun both trojans… ill post them when i know. ill o the otl fix when thats complete cos of reboot.

Also shoul i ‘fix MBR’ on the awsMBR program, because i only ran the scan up till now?

No do not press fixmbr

Avast foun these:

JS:NeutrinoEK-C[Trj] File: C:.…\swrjckxi[1].htm Says virus chest server not running when try to move.

Win32:Capshaw-S[Trj] File : C:.…\Tracelog Says The process cannot access the file because it is being
use by another process

hmm just thought , the 1st one, the file looks a bit like something from a pop up i got on a film streaming site, which avast blocke trojans from.

ok I’ll otl fix now an reboot.

when you see the scan result…put your mouse pointer on the vertical bar just in front of “severity” and dragg sidways…then you will see the full file path
take a screen shot and attach it here…

Oh… Or doh ! ::slight_smile: … silly me

and a pain in the bum… avast doesnt store old scan logs anymore an have to do another one to get it!! :(. unless … ahhaaa ! i can specify folder to scan may speed things up a wee bit. can u help with that? ie. which one … C:\ ? I’ll probably have finiishe the full scan by the time i get reply ;D.

Ok, Ignore the above 2 trojans i gave because they were not there after reboot an OTL fix Essexboy gave above.

Avast full scan now shows : see attatchment below.

Avast crashed so i cant move file to chest.

ALso does AVAST AV have a ‘SCAN LOG’ SECTION, because its listed in their ‘help’ section, but i cant find it??.Pretty sure its not staring me in the face…OH yes i got it now, its annoying when they change layout, reminds me of supermarkets when u cant find anything when they do that!!

thank you

every time i try an open files i get this pop up too, yet it attatchment files stilll open when I ‘OK’ pop up:

OK empty all your flash player cookies and settings cache… Details here http://forums.adobe.com/message/4278569

Looks like FDM requires to be reinstalled

ok, cleared flash player cookies /settings cache.

About FdM, is that part of flash player, because filehippo has flash player as 1 beta update ‘to do’. If not where can i find FdM? [ignorance is bliss  !]

machine running smoother alreay though after clearing all the crap off.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm try this link

that worked fine. thanks

machine better but still frequent screen feeezes though (wher u get a white rectangle in top left corner … and ‘not responding’), leading to ALL IE closing suddenly. also windows security upates are still failing all the time/

quick scan results attatched, and updates that failed to install, any ideas? Ta

just did another full scan, more unreadables. how come more keep appearing?

seems avast just did a clean up in the def (signture) folder just before you scanned…
reboot and scan and they should be gone…

Are the netframework updates still failing to install ?
