With active WEB-Protection neither Firefox, nor IE can open the above mentioned WEB-Site.

What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)

No problem connecting to it with FF 44.0.2 and the latest version of avast 2016 11.1.2253.
