Help: Avast Web Shield has blocked a harmful webpage or file

My computer is constantly getting a pop-up window that say “Web Shield has blocked a harmful webpage or file.”

I have attached the logs from the programs in the pinned post.

Note: earlier today i found a file named autoKMS.exe on a boot-scan. I choose to delete this file.

Thank you in advance!

The aswMBR wasn’t complete on the first log, so i re-attach it here.

Note: earlier today i found a file named autoKMS.exe on a boot-scan. I choose to delete this file.
are you using cracked software?

Yeah :-[ . Valid key though.

No it is not a valid key since it is cracked.
If you want to use a office packet use LibreOffice, it is FREE.

Dunno if we’re talking about the thing.
My windows is a downloaded version since my computer crashed a couple of months back. Didn’t have any install CD, so a downloaded it to another PC and installed it through a USB stick, with my own key. My avast isnt cracked though.

Don’t think this is associated with my problem though, since it started yesterday.

Hope you’ll be able to help me.

autoKMS.exe has nothing to do with Windows, it is installed with a cracked version of office.
Stop using software illegal and you may get help here.

Oh… I don’t even use office :-\ I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone. I’ll just have to reinstall windows then?

Let me know if this stops it

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Thanks. I managed to fix the problem by reseting firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

Do you recommend I perform your steps anyway? The avast full scan came back clean.

Yes, as the adware will still be on your system

Hard to know if this fixed my problem, since resetting firefox removed all “symptoms” of avast warnings popping up.

Anyhow, here are the logs.

Thanks again!

Any further problems

I suggest you run Farbar again and attach the new logs.

No further problems… everything seems to be working like a charm

Attached the logs from the scans again. The malwarebyte scan came back clean though.

Looking good

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version

Malwarebytes.
