Help? Can't delete or move to chest virus/worm.

I’ve done a scan, and it seems that this is my only concern (that’s been found)

I have Norton 360 (yes, I know…), Avast!, AVG (haven’t bothered installing yet), and Spybot Search and Destroy.

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Shared\QBackup{37432C71-1C48-4703-8860-6E89C8CEAB78}.qbi

I can’t Delete or Move to chest:
It gives me this “Access is denied; Cannot process C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Shared\QBackup{37432C71-1C48-4703-8860-6E89C8CEAB78}.qbi file.”

My computer is windows Vista if that matters, and I put the option of making hidden folders visible, I know the exact location (I go as far as Qbackup but then I just scan from there)

Does this have something to do with Norton? I’ve never bothered doing a back up for Norton 360, so is that it? How serious is this problem? Please help, and thank you in advance!

Um, I found two other topics on this website, but I’m not entirely sure what it means, since I’m far from tech savvy. What’s a false positive, and can anyone help? I have to sign up for classes soon but I’m scared to log on because of this malware finding.

Having two resident scanners installed is not recommended as rather than provide twice the protection it can cause conflicts that could leave you more vulnerable.

The inability to send to the chest could well be a conflict where 360 has a lock on the file, it is like two dogs fighting over a bone. That is possibly where the access denied comes from or just a security program protecting its files.

You really have to make a choice as to which ‘one’ will be your Resident anti-virus and uninstall the other/s. Norton products have in the past proven to be real pigs to remove completely and the remnants can conflict with other security applications.

A link worth looking at, which is a program removal tool that can remove the remnants of a number of different Norton Programs:
Removing your Norton program using SymNRT

Spybot S&D isn’t an anti-virus and this rule applies to resident AVs, it applies equally if you had multiple anti-spyware applications, only one should be resident.

A false positive is a file that is detected as infected, which turns out to be clean. The same as a false positive result in medical tests.

I don’t know if this is an FP as I don’t know what this file is, on occasion other security programs have their virus signatures (unencrypted) which will be detected by other security programs, but as I said I don’t know what the content of this file is.

you can give superantispyware malwarebytes antimalware a shot and see if they can solve your problem and you should only run on anti virus on your computer if you run more then one they will conflict between them.

malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/ download, install, update and run a scan with them and see if they can solve your problem.

good luck and write back if you get more problem.
