Help for a worm that won't move to chest

Can someone offer advice to a non computer literate oldy who is running Avast as this has proved effective in the past at dealing with pests.

For the past couple of weeks my pc has been running slowly so I have just run a ‘custom’ scan and found a problem.

Avast reports “Threat:INF:AutoRun-AL[Wrm]” and recommends move to chest. I have tried to do this but nothing happens.

When I run the ‘full system scan’ Avast doesn’t find the worm. I don’t understand what is happening here so if anyone could give me some advice I’ll really appreciate it.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the Avast report on the worm.

Many thanks.

That is a memory scan and you will get some rather weird results, hence it is not a recommended scan. Any virus/malware definitions held in memory by a protection programme will be unencrypted, hence Avast will detect them. In this case it is one of Avast’s signatures

Thanks for your reply essexboy: I’ll rest easy now. BTW you’re not the same essexboy as on the Springsteen forums?

Alas no… I cannot carry a tune even in a bucket ;D
