Hi I’m a believer in this site, I’ve been having problems and I don’t know if it’s me, a virus or just this laptop either way somethings going out the window soon!!! I couldn’t get web pages but I have a good connection and I was advised by bt that maybe it could be my sygate firewall but everything is allowed in that I can see. I have ran avast on several strengths and it says there was nothing.I ran Ad-ware se and it found something at critical level 7 so I quarintined and my screens are freezing and and I have to switch the machine of every 30mins or so please help me I have a bad case of PC rage >:(
Any Windows Events or avast log have informations about that?
Are you saying freezing or crashing (BSOD)?
Which is your operational system? Any other antivirus in this same computer?
Hi I have no other anti-viruses on this it’s second hand and the person before me had avast as well. The screens freeze and not the blue wall of death once they freeze I have to switch it of I can’t log off I done trend micro and it found just vuneritiblities in word perfect and buffer overrun in jpeg ??? don’t know anything about that either sorry. Is this any help?

maybe your connection has been corrupted and maybe http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/spyware/lspfix.zip might correct the problem
this is another similar solutionhttp://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html that might work . maybe an over install of windows might be the solution. try those and post back if you need more suggestions. 
Since your Ad-Aware SE scan found a category 7, merely
quarantining it should be a 1st step, not the last step .
