help- i have never inserted the license key into my free vers avast!...

and yet it says that I have a previous version of avast running when i start up. I have tried to insert previously and run into issues but now i am preparing to insert it finally. I don’t think that avast should be running yet as the key is not inserted… i have never downloaded any prior version… avast will not be up till the key is in, no?

i am running it on kubuntu. if that helps. i have clamAV on kubuntu, and i was thinking maybe avast mistakes clam for a prior vers, but it doesnt’ actively scan, so i figured not the case

anyone know what this is?

Yes, avast! needs the registration key is inserted.

would you say, then, that it thinks my clam av is a different version of avast, and that is why it sez this?
