Dear Forum,
A friend’s laptop is not recognising the LAN cable when it is plugged in, and there is no internet connection. Could somebody please advise how to fix this?
-
The cable itself works in three other computers (so the cable is not the culprit)
-
After the cable has been plugged in, Windows does not react at all
-
Device Manager shows this under network adaptors
- 1394 - Networkadaptor
- Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 2200 BG Network Connection

Numbers 3, 5, and 6 show a yellow circle with an exclamation mark on them
-
It says 'The device driver for this hardware cannot be loaded. The driver is possibly damaged or not available (Code 39)
-
The computer is an ASUS Laptop with INtel Pentium Processor 1.60GHz - 1.0 GB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon X700.
-
The computer has Kaspersky Internet Security 9.0.0.459 installed (And had PANDA installed)
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!
