HELP ME GET DELETED FILES

I installed Avast and then ran a scan, which resulted in a bunch of results, including 1 of my excel files being deleted.
After that I couldn’t open that file on my computer and I think it was because of Avast that I deleted the entire Avast installation from my computer.
After that I still can’t open my files
I had to reinstall Avast then go to Protection → Quarantine but there was no deleted file.
I search on my computer and I still see the file but it’s as a Shortcut and can’t open it.

So now how do I get that file back?

Big mistake, since you uninstalled Avast, the file is lost.

I only rely on Avast, other than that I don’t have the file saved anywhere else so I can get it back

Well, if you don’t have any restore point(s) or backup(s) the file is probably lost forever.

I too believe it is gone forever, having uninstalled Avast its contents including that of the virus chest would be removed.

Even using the link Asyn gave or any other file recovery tool is likely to fail:
1: Files sent to the virus chest are encrypted.
2: The file name in the chest is also changed, so a search for this file name in any file recovery tool is unlikely to find it.
