Hi I have just installed avast! on my computer. I have virus so I try a boot time scan with avast!.
I have a Trojan gen (and other but it’s the main problem) on a lot of my files.
I try to repair the files but it’s impossible, then I put them in quarantine but there is too much files infected. What have I to do? I don’t want delete all this files.
Thanks to answer me.
Your English is very good. No problem.
Which is the name of the virus?
For sure it’s not safer deleting than sending to Chest. Repair is only available for executable files (.exe, .com) and for some kind of infections. So, again, it’s normal.
Maybe if you disable System Restore, boot and reenable it again you will reduce the number of files. Also, clean your temporary files with CCleaner.
It will be good if you use AVG Antispyware; SUPERantispyware and/or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
Ok thanks. The main problem is that there is too much files infected, after a time I can’t put the virus in the quarantine (I think it’s because there is too much files infected)
The avast chest (Quarantine) has a default size setting and that may be what is stopping the additional files from being able to be put in the chest.
You can edit these settings, right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Program Settings, Chest and increase the size of the Chest, see image example of my settings with the increased sizes.
