I turned on my computer and the first thing that caught my attention was a message that said my “startup” had been changed. I know I didn’t change anything in my start up. Then, I opened my mail program and my AVAST :-[virus alarm went off. I click on DELETE (email message) but the alarm box won’t disappear and I get a message that says… there are no more files?
I’m typing this from work because on my computer I cannot post to this forum as I can’t say logged in.
Not sure if this is pertinent or not but the virus Avast is warning me about is MY DOOM

Try downloading stinger http://vil.nai.com/vil/averttools.asp from your work computer on a memory stick which has the latest mydoom varients and run the program (Pause Avast shield first) and see if it shows up anything.
There has been a new varient over the last couple of days.
Wonder if you got infected and then avast updated hence you are now detecting it??
Did you get any strange e mails over the last couple of days which asked you to click on a link??
Which Mydoom varient does avast detct?
