*HELP NEEDED*side-by-side configuration is incorrect

Hi Guys, I’ve installed avast! onto my desktop and when I tried to run it I’ve got an error msg- “the application failed to start because of its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more details.”

anyone has a solution to this issue? pls kindly assist me.

PS: I’m using Windows Vista.

Though it’s strange, i thought this comes with avast! installer.
