Help Needed, Unable to update or access certain websites

Hello,

I trying to figure out what is going on with my Sisters machine.

O/S Is windows 7, She is unable to access certain websites IE Facebook and various other sites. Also the computer is unable to connect to the database.

A/V scan comes up with nothing, I have Disabled all NON M/S applications, and tried Avira software. I have installed Malwarebytes, and it did not find anything however I was also unable to install the update.

Any suggestions?

do you have a firewall ?

and tried Avira software.
only install one AV so if you have more than one, uninstall it was the machine delivered with a preinstalled AV when new ? if so uninstall it it is recomended to use a removaltool to clean all leftovers after the uninstall you can find removal tool here, run it and reboot http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/
