Can anyone help me please as i’m trying to remove Avasti Anti Theft from my Padfone one as i just cannot seem to be able to remove it completely. I’m trying to use the Avasti Anti-Theft Removal Wizard to uninstall the app. It will not work using the first option Direct Write Method.
I’ve selected the other option RECOVERY IMAGE METHOD which says it will make an UPDATE.ZIP file then i select the “Use Edify” selection and then the “Binary option 2” which says is for ice Cream Sandwhich ( which i think my phone is running 4.04). It then says an UPDATE.ZIP file was created and do i want Rom Manager to uninstall avasti in in recovery mode! Now here lies my problem im not really any good with phones and wondered if i will render my phone useless if i try to perform this option to try and remove avasti from my phone or will it be OK? I’ve also located the Device admin file being used by the anti theft software but cannot unistall that either! Any advice would be much appreciated.

did you install Anti-Theft rooted? Did you flash the update.zip in the recovery system?
if you installed it rooted, you can also try our uninstall.zip at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/root%20uninstall.zip
unzip it on your pc and run uninstall.bat with your phone connected via USB to the pc. make sure usb-debugging is enabeled on your phone and the phone driver is installed on the PC.
If you do it on the PC where you rooted your phone you usually have these drivers available.
