Help needed with security centre on comp stating Avast protection out of date

I am somewhat concerned that despite automatic updating my security centre on the computer is telling me that Virus protection is out of date. I have downloaded updates even though they are done automatically and run a virus check, system restore etc. but its still staying the same.

My avast is not due for renewal as it has only been renewed a couple of months ago and I do have the latest version.

I have microsoft windows xp version 2002.

This has only just happened in the last couple of days

Any help or advice much appreciated

Check your system date (double click on the clock) and ensure the date, month, year, etc. are correct and adjust as necessary.

Huge thanks, you were absolutely right, the date and month were wrong and I didn’t notice. All back to normal now!! :wink: much appreciated

Some viruses could mess the system time and date. I suggest a full scanning 8)

No problem, welcome to the forums.

One of the more likely causes is someone checking the calendar for a date/day in a months time say and forgetting to set it back to the correct date. What is more common is when asked if anyone has been messing with the calendar, is the answer No ;D
