Im not a Vista user so this is strictly a guess, but isn’t there an option to run all users, including Adminstrators, as standard users? Maybe you need to change that setting.
Since I have selected "Custom Level", which seems to be
greyed out on your screen shot, on my computer, is it
available to be used on your desktop ?
Perhaps if that Option is available, that "Some settings are
managed by your system administrator" will "disappear" ?
Or perhaps, the underlined "settings" is a "replacement"
for the "Custom Level" that was accessible in previous
versions !?
That’s what the laptop setting looks like.
Still can’t figure out where the “system administrator” comes from.
This is my desktop computer. There isn’t any system admin…
On the screenshot for the laptop, it appears "Custom
level" is NOT "greyed out"; therefore, it can be clicked on
and there is no need for a "some settings are managed
....... ". Looks like one is a later "edition" of the beta 3 and
that Microsoft is "experimenting" on which one to use !?
Probably they are waiting for input from their Beta
"Testers" as to which one they prefer !?
Before getting the IE7 beta 3, did you ever click on
"Custom level" and configure the settings there ?
It opens up a help file which sends you to a link on the internet.
Unfortunately it referres to information pertaining to Vista which I don’t have installed.
I’ve uninstalled IE7 and am back to using IE6.
