HELP! Outlook Express probrem

I’ve just instaled Avast 4.7 Home editon…and I can’t neither recieve nor send e-mail messages :cry:
I use Outlook Express 6 , Windows XP.
After I installed Avast I didn’t aditionally change any setting neither in Avast nor in Outlook Express.

The error message I 'm getting in Outlook Express is

“The server responded with an error. Account: ‘pop3.eunet.yu’, Server: ‘pop3.eunet.yu’, Protocol: POP3, Server Response: ‘-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 194.247.192.180 (194.247.192.180:110), connect error 10061’, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90”

“An unknown error has occurred. Account: ‘pop3.eunet.yu’, Server: ‘smtp.eunet.yu’, Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: ‘421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 194.247.192.179 (194.247.192.179:25), connect error 10061’, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67”

Anyone has any idea what’s the problem and how to fix it? ???

You shouldn’t have to make any changes in either avast or OE6 (this is what I use).

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashMaiSv.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and do a check for email, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

yeah it was firewall problem (outpost)…don’t know how I didn’t figure out that :slight_smile: . I fixed it now…it all works well :slight_smile:
