so basically i ran a full system scan and avast came up with a few files that said couldn’t be scanned because they’re password protected and most seemed to be in system32 folder and .dll extension. i then ran a scan with kaspersky virus removal tool and it came up with the same thing. both avast and kaspersky found a file named “6880472.exe” or “6880472.exe\6880472.exe” but there is no location listed for it. i tried running a search on my pc showing non-indexed, hidden, and system files but it came up with nothing. does anyone know what this .exe might be or how i could find it/remove it?
does anyone know what this .exe might be or how i could find it/remove it?why do you want to remove it?
search the forum for… files that could not be scanned. or. password protected files
i don’t want to remove it necessarily. i just found it strange that it was detected by two seperate scans but i can’t find it anywhere on my machine.
detected as what?
i guess detected is the wrong word to use, more like found. both scans found files that they said couldn’t be scanned because they are password protected and i know that some companys will pw protect their files and whatnot. the thing that concerned me is that it is an executable and there is no location given for it using either avast or kaspersky. is that normal?
"6880472.exe\6880472.exethis seems to be from inside a restore point..... do you have the full file path given by avast
forum search

and many many more if you forum search… files that could not be scanned question is asked once a week
okay thanks. i’ll run the scan again and post it.
alright so when i ran a full system scan with avast the .exe didn’t come up but it did when i ran a scan with kaspersky virus removal tool. i attached the logs from the kaspersky only where the .exe showed up in the log. also, when doing a full system scan with avast it’s only scanning about 110GB of the 250 on this HDD. is that normal?
