Not sure where to post this but… today I finally updated to windows 10 and everything went smoothly, there is only one problem that I have… My Avast firewall wont turn on and every time I try to I get a pop-up saying “Unable to start firewall!” I’m not really good with stuff like this and I would really appreciate some help. Thank you
Welcome to the forum.
Are you using the latest version of Avast ?
If you are, reboot your system and see if that takes care of the problem.
What a simple fix… I feel dumb! Oh well, Thank you very much for the help!
Bob is showing off again!
Just trying ti make life easier.
@ Zack12,
Nothing to feel dumb about. How do you think those that know the answer found it ???
You’re welcome.
You’re one of the reasons I like to hang around Avast, Bob! Have a great day! RR
Just reading on why my Firewall does not turn on after I just restarted my computer for a reason other than an Avast update. I did install a new update for Avasts a day (or so) ago and said “no” to the option to restart the computer (I set it to restart a week from then). So, restarting today the new update for Avast kicks in and Suprize! My Firewall now cannot turn on. Retried to update Avast and it says it is updated so … I think there is a problem with this new update? On a side note … the verification code to submit this post is impossible to read! Who invents this garbage? I guess I am a computer?

Have you tried avast repair?
Controlpanel > ad / remove programs > avast > uninstall / change > repair option

Controlpanel > ad / remove programs > avast > uninstall / change > repair option
Right click on the start button > select Program and Features > select Avast> select repair
When the operation is finished, reboot your system. (Does that solve your problem ??? )
