I just renewed my Avast for the next year, and received my confirmation e-mail shortly thereafter. It has sent me a new activation number, but when I go to settings (as directed) it asks for my password, yet when I put it in (and I know that this is in fact correct) it tells me “wrong password” yet there is no way to reset or change it. Therefore, I cannot enter my activation # as I can’t get that far into the settings where I have to go due to this “wrong password.” I have sent a ticket (#823395) asking what to do but I’ve yet to hear from anyone. Can anyone help??? Thanks for your time in reading this.
I got it fixed. No need to respond. Thanks.
Was there anything in particular that you did that resolved this, as it could help others in the future ?
Hi Dave, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=202936.0
Thanks, I wasn’t sure which password was entered (the UI one if set or the avast account one), plus on occasion we get spurious requests for a password when one wasn’t set.
You’re welcome.
