LOL - oooops
didn’t know the name of the attachment was posted
Let me try something more socially acceptable ;D
message says that your time setting is incorrect . Is that true or not?
You can get this message if:
1] Your system date/time isn’t correct.
2] You use the home version and entered the key 14 months ago.
3] You have the pro version and the time you paid for is over.
Possible solutions:
1] set it correct. And check the cmos battery.
2] get a free new key from the website.
3] buy a new license.
I just checked again - it’s correct. XP sp2. My computer was on since the last AVast program update - however I did reboot - and I get the same error. I’m running Avast 4.5.505
Hmmm. I am from outerspace, does that matter ??? :o
(kidding on the outerspace part)
Did you by chance removed Avast and reïnstalled?
Have you tried entering the key again?
Sorry eddy - I missed your post there. I guess I’ll try a new license thing. Pretty weird error - and obviously Avast is not working on simple math
I’ll try a repair install first I guess
crossed posts again eddy -
no - this 4.5 beta (all releases has been running smooth from the get go. Went offline roughly 24 hours ago, logged on (dsl) tonight (no reboot) and thats what I got. I recieved the “red box of pain” pop up in the lower right corner of the screen. hmmmmmm
I will try repair and if that doesn’t work, will do a new license thingy.
re-registering worked
However, whatever that problem just was is completely un-acceptable if someone has paid for the pro version.
Otherwise this thing rocks. I’d consider paying for this - its really kick arse, but that was bad. And I’m thinking re-registering a pro version might not be so fast…
Please send me setup.log file (from avast4/setup folder) to forejt@asw.cz. I’ll check when and why that error message appeared.
Forejt, can you ask Pavel to give you a phrase like ‘Alwil team’ on your profile?
It’s not common a single user ask for the setup.log.
I could only recognize you by the email server ;D

Will do It’ll be a while until I’m back on that machine
CMOS
CMOS run ;D
Yep, something happened with my clock - only my “better half” didn’t tell me
Still a pretty funky result - I mean you guys know when i registered and what day it is
So can /does the same thing happen on the Pro version? Can that be corrected on the pro version as asimple as free version (reregistering) - if my clock would go nutz on me?
Not only can but will happen, for sure.
Sure, if your clock is wrong you won’t be able to update…
The Registration number brings into itself its validity, the update timeout 8)
