Help Possible Virus Infection Avast not helping

Hello,
I need urgent help, first of all i am not good with computers at all so please bear that in mind. I’ve had Avast and Malwarebytes running simultaneously for couple of years now. Yesterday i had tried to download TinyUmbrella from this website and after i had downloaded it, immediately i noticed:

  • Could not open any desktop icons
  • Could not download anything

I managed to open Malwarebytes and Avast and have run tests and have deleted 3 viruses/bugs. But the problem still remains.

I tried to do a system restore but again, every program not just the desktop icons are unresponsive.

The strange part is that i can open Google Chrome, Avast and Malwarebytes but i can not open anything.

Plus MBytes and Avast was running at the same time how could the virus by bypass it?

What can i do?

Here is the information on my Avast:

Current Version: 120928-0
7.0.1466

The virus i had deleted was something connected to 7zip.

No security programs have 100% detection

follow this guide and attach the logs…not copy and paste http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes
OTL
aswMBR

I will be attaching the following within the next few posts.

OTL
ASWMBR
AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes

AdwareCleaner*

ASWMBR

Mbytes

I have followed exactly what the guide has said. Please enlighten me to what to do next…

There may be some delay due to differing time zones and availability of the volunteer malware removal specialists.

For future reference you can attach up to four files provided they don’t total more than 192KB or any single file not greater than 200KB.

Edit: typo italics.

I’m sorry i’m still getting used to the forum interface…
And thank you for your post.

OK it does not appear to be malware related

When you click an icon does it just sit there, or does it appear to be doing something ?

Thank you very much for your posts, and in regards to icons on desktops they just sit there, when i click one the image just becomes vague. One thing i noticed is whenever i try to open Microsoft Office it says “Preparing to Install” really fast and then nothing ever happens. When i go to the Start menu, nothing works when clicked on. But i will do what you just told me and tell you what happens.

I tried to download it but won’t be downloaded this error comes up:

"Could not Create Uninstall Shortcut:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in one)\Tweaking.com-Windows Repair (All in One) .lnk "

OK go back to the site and select the portable version

I have had good results with this programme … It can repair most damage

I have just looked a tinyumbrella … Is it a jailbreak programme ?

Did you see my previous re downloading the portable version ?

Yes Tinyumbrella is a jailbreak program but somehow i had downloaded 7ZIP instead. That’s where the virus had come from.

And i’m sorry but i do not see a Portable Version, can you possibly link it for me?

Thank you for all your help so far.

I just found the Portable Version.
