I used the avast 4 home edition virus scan and by mistake have shifted many system files(dll and exe files) to the chest. Now the system has slowed down to a crawl, the google desktop search not working, and internet connectivity shows-limited or no connectivity. When I opened the chest I observe all the files are in here.
1.How to move these files back to the original location?
2.Most of the icons in the chest area shows grey. There is an icon showing refresh which apprently may work.
Please advise how to reset the system.
It is always recommended that you include the name of
your Operating System when requesting help ; if it is
Win XP, should mention if it is Win XP, Win XP SP1 or
Win XP SP2 .
Also important:
What was the virus name, what was the file name, where was it found example (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Not all files in system folders are operating system files. It is a common tactic of malware to place files in the system folders, to create doubt in the user that they are important system files. So if you can answer the above questions it will help us to help you.
