Dear customer,
You were successfully registered for using avast! 4 Home Edition antivirus program. If you have installed older version (AVAST32), be so kind and download and install the current version avast! 4 Home Edition (see below).
Your license key is
---------- cut here ----------
YES I REMOVED THE KEY … so it cant be borrowed …
---------- cut here ----------
The key is valid for home, personal and non-commercial use on Windows workstation operating systems only!
Avast home is free for life (as long as you comply to the license terms)
But, each 14 months you need to obtain a new (free) key for the updates.
This way Alwil can get an idea of how many people are using the application.
My guess is, you installed Avast for the first time about 14 months ago.
I installed it 4 days ago and it’s doing it to me.
It did this too me on my previous computer, too. I had renewed the cd-key, because a few years had passed (it told me I needed another one), and about 6 months later, it said mine was temporarily disabled. What the varg, eh?
Right now? I mean, can’t you use this last (new) key?
Registration is for 14 months. So the first key you’ve mentioned seems to be expired.
If I’m not wrong, there were a recall of keys some time in the past that requires all users to register again. I don’t know if it was dus to an antipiracy policy or changes in the registration method/key.
