Hi,
I am a Premier Avast customer.
I recently received a couple of emails I thought were from reputable companies which turned out to be bogus and packed full of viruses.
Foolishly I opened the attachments; now my poor laptop, Windows 8.1, is riddled with viruses which I discovered last night when I ran a boot scan.
The viruses are as follows:
Win32:Mytob-JM, several files are infected with this,
HTML:Iframe-0V[Trj],
Win32:Injected-AZ
Several decompression bombs!
Avast cannot delete, move to chest or repair these. The only option that worked was for me to ignore them all, which is not ideal!
I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me as I am quite upset about these viruses being on my laptop and of course I have no idea what damage they can do. It is quite nerve-racking.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Alex
Next time, upload and test mail attchments at one of these places before you run them www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com

Thank you very much. I will try everything you suggested and will revert with my findings. ![]()
Hi,
sorry about the delay.
I downloaded All as per instructions.
I ran all the checks and my laptop started to act strangely after I downloaded Farbar; e.g. My browsers kept hanging, I couldn’t access my mail, my mouse had a life of its own, and even after 24 hours, Farbar was still running but I was getting no results. I had to force the laptop to switch off and after 4 restarts, the laptop seems to be back to normal and to my amazement there is a log of the scan results from Farbar!
Here are the results:
Many thanks in advance for your diagnosis.
Kind regards,

How is the computer behaving now ?
Actually,
so far it is behaving beautifully… as if I just got it out of the box.
I shall do the same with my desktop as it is misbehaving too.
There is one thing, which I am certain is completely unrelated to any worms or viruses, but the laptop gets so hot that I can’t even touch it but I’ll have to research a solution to that elsewhere i think.
Thank you again for your kindness. You have put a smile on my face once more. I am happy.
Warmest regards,
Alex

If you wish you can run an FRST scan on the desktop and I will look at that for you. With regards to the laptop overheating you may need a sort of stand to allow the air to flow all round the system
