Help - Trouble installing new paid subscription...

I paid for the Internet security and Cleanup on 12/30/2015. So, I got a message today saying my free subscription ran out…why? Anyway, I went and found the purchase confirmations in my email.

I tried to follow the direction for registration by going to SETTINGS - REGISTRATION. I then pastes the key into the space and pushed NEXT.

Waited for a long time, and finally got “The request cannot be processed at this moment, please try again later. (-1)” So, I retried it a few minutes later with same results.

Tired of waiting I uninstalled Avast. Then I went back to my email found the order and clicked on the INSTALL AVAST Files (or something to that affect.

After waiting for a long time Avast began to run and immediately asked me to buy the product. I went back to uninstall Avast again. This time I GOT A MESSAGE ASKING IF I WANTED TO INSTALL THE FREE AVAST. I clicked on this and it installed the free version.

So once again I went to settings and tried to install with the provided key. NO DICE. I got the “The request cannot be processed…” blah blah. I couldn’t find a phone number on the “Contact Us” link and a search of the HELP section was stupid and fruitless.

How can I get this software installed? OR should I ask for a refund through my credit card company?

Use the license file, not the activation code.

You should have received an email with the license file attached or a link to download it ?

The file name is in the form of license.avastlic, save that to your hard disk and double click it, avast will insert the licens

Yeah, no license file was sent/attached, but I tried the key/activation code again and this time it worked…? NO SEE BELOW

Odd/unclear installation procedure. Hope software is better than the installation procedure.

UH, OH, NOT SO FAST. After reboot IT IS ASKING ME TO PAY AGAIN… What the heck Avast?

Well, I tried again. And it began working again. And it is OK after another Restart. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

A point of note, using the activation code has a limit on how many times it can be used (I don’t know what that is), but there is no limit on the license file.

You can use the Resend avast License https://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, so you have a copy. You will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.

Limit on the activation code is 5 times according to the latest information that I have.
