Help what should i do

Just done a virus scan, and the following was found:

c:\user\MIKES\AppData\Local\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Contect.IE5\WFWCM846 JS:Downloader-BFQ [trj]

I was then asked to do a boot scan and the following also appeared

C:##aswSnx private storage\sfzone\imagine\sfzone_profile\default\cache HTML:Iframe-inf

Could anyone tell me what these two are and what they do, at current i have them in the Virus chest is that safe or should i re-install my pc software to the maufactory settings…again… arrggghhhhhhh such fun that is too…!

Thanks…

yes it is safe....that is what chest/quarantine is for and no need to reinstall http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=501

files are from a infected website you have visited…you see located in IE temp folder

Thanks,

I checked the website affordable-seo.org as stated was infected nothing was downloaded and total virus say’s its clean, so confused how that has appeared.

also looking through the forum i have read that

C:##aswSnx private storage\sfzone\imagine\sfzone_profile\default\cache

is an Avast file… am i right? then why is it being classed as a boot virus?

Thanks for the support.

what do you mean by boot virus ?... above you say it is detected as HTML:Iframe-inf and located in avast sandbox cache it seems

Hi

I first did a scan and

c:\user\MIKES\AppData\Local\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Contect.IE5\WFWCM846 JS:Downloader-BFQ [trj]

was found and Avast recommended a Boot scan which when i did also showed up :

C:##aswSnx private storage\sfzone\imagine\sfzone_profile\default\cache - HTML:Iframe-inf

Since i was doin a boot scan I thought this would be a virus as it was found using the boot scan…I dont understand all the technical terms, could you explain please what HTML:Iframe-inf is so i know for the future why this was found is it not a virus or malware or how if possible to rectify it.

Thanks
Mike

Basically, because you are doing a scan outside of windows, the avast sandbox folder can actually be seen, when normally when windows is running it is hidden.

For some reason the boot-time scan doesn’t like something in the safezone cache area, but the web shield should also have seen this when you were browsing.

So for now I would say the safest option is to clear the safezone/browser cache.
