Hello everyone,
I have Avast Internet Security 6 on my Win 7 computer.
My problem are actually firewall settings as I’ve tried everything that I could think of and that didn’t help me solve my problem.
Please hear me out.
I own two computers and AP.
My XP computer is connected to my Win 7 computer and my Win 7 computer is connected to AP and that’s how I access internet.
Connection between my XP and Win 7 computer works just fine.
My Firewall Settings are set to Work/Medium Risk Zone.
As I’ve figured if I set them to Home, it’s almost like unprotected at all…
Now, this is when issue comes in.
When I try to connect to internet from my XP computer Avast does not allow me to do so… Although, I’ve enabled entire IP range for my LAN in “Friends” on Avast…
But the moment when I put Avast Firewall to HOME mode everything works fine, if I slide it back to WORK connections get blocked…
Please help me, what should I enable / add / remove in order to have my Firewall set to Work / Medium Risk Zone and to have my XP computer to have access trough my Win 7 computer where Avast is…
So, all in all, everything is working perfect when I put it back to Home mode, but when it’s in Work mode (with allowed applications) it won’t work…
Also, I’ve tried to add my XP computer IP to the System allowed applications with everything allowed and it won’t work…
Although I thought it will work when I add my LAN (XP to Win 7) IP range to Friends list in Firewall…
PLEASE help me to solve this issue and still have Avast Firewall protection activated.
Thank you!
