Help with go.wvydeo.com and others

Having constant warnings of wvydeo and other (xemhgv.com) internet explorer issues. Once it started popping up, they were coming so fast I couldn’t write them all down! Malwarebytes doesn’t seem to find anything, but the avast popups are CONTINUIOUS!

Trying to follow your post on scanning and attaching files here. Hopefully the files are attached correctly. Currently waiting for aswMBR to finish scanning. It has been scanning one file now for 13 minutes but it says it’s still running… will attach the log when it completes.

aswMBR finally finished scanning! Only took an hour and 16 minutes… Advice for newbies out there, if you run this program and it looks like it isn’t doing anything… let it keep going!!

Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated!

Is any one going to help me with this problem? I know it has been a holiday but I can’t do anything else (as per your instructions) until I know something.

Please help!!!

For what it is worth, Hobbit, I may have just solved a similar (if not the same) problem with this link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-poweliks-trojan

Hope it is ok to post that here and hope it works for you.

Thanks so much for your help!

Any further problems ?

So far, everything seems great! Had to do a reset to all of the IE settings to get YouTube to function again, but other than that, no other symptoms seem left!

Thank you so much for your help with this!

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove tools

Download and run Delfix

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/javara.JPG

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

CryptoPrevent install this programme to lock down and prevent crypto ransome ware

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/CryptoPrevent.JPG

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Unchecky

Click on the link above to be taken to Unchecky.com
click the very large Download button.
click Save
Click Open folder
Right click on the Unchecky_setup and choose to Run as Administrator
Once open click the Install button.
Then click on Finish
Unchecky is now installed and will help you keep unwanted check boxes unchecked, this is a fire and forget programme

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

Everything seemed to be going so well until 2 minutes ago, got another 7 AVAST warnings. This time it was:
http://s.vb3k.com/crossdomain.xml
URL:Mal
C:\Program Files (x86).…\IEXPLORE.EXE

I have already run all the programs from your previous post (Delfix, JavaRa, etc.).

Help!

Well that is weird as that is something totally different

Lets have another look
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Select additions at the bottom
[*]Press Scan button.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/frst.JPG

[*]It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
[*]Please attach both logs generated.

Alright! Attached are both requested logs.

Nothing new showing

Save your IE bookmarks to the desktop as this procedure may loose them

Go to Control panel > Internet options
Select Advanced tab
Click reset and then try again

Just to make sure, do you want me to delete personal settings during the reset or leave that box unchecked?

Leave that box unchecked initially

Done!

So far nothing else has popped up nor have I seen any other signs of slowdown/usage problem. After the first fix, CPU usage is back to around 2% and memory is right around 2.10 GB’s of 8. So other than the AVAST warning pop up, the only other weird issue has been the need to reset my modem to regain connection (sometimes as much as 2 to 3 times a day and it only affects this computer).

Thanks again for your quick reply and help!! It is greatly appreciated!
