Help with HijackThis Log file...

Hi,

I need help in analyzing this logfile obtained via HijackThis. It seems that my laptop might be infected because the FIND bar activates on its own when using Firefox or IE (I posted a earlier thread on this issue, but it could not be resolved). It even occurs when I am offline. My AV and Firewall are up to date, and I have scanned my system with a wide variety of malware tools but nothing detected. This logfile was generated the last time the FIND bar activated on its own. Thanks very much for your help!

I’d remove those entries with Hijackthis…

Also, I see that you have Ad-Aware. It’s not a bad program, just not very useful anymore. You might want to get rid of it for now.

You probably don’t need this anymore either:
O16 - DPF: {215B8138-A3CF-44C5-803F-8226143CFC0A} (Trend Micro ActiveX Scan Agent 6.6) - http://ushousecall02.trendmicro.com/housecall/applet/html/native/x86/win32/activ ex/hcImpl.cab

That’s only to run online scans, it’s probably safe to remove now.

The last thing that I will ask is do you have a full Comodo internet security product installed, or just the firewall?
Only one A/V product should be installed on your system at a time, and I can’t tell if you have both or not.

If you do, please remove one or the other (I’d of course prefer if you’d stay with avast).

Thanks for your response.

I am using just the Firewall of Comodo IS and not the AV. I use Avast Home as my AV.

Sure. For future reference, you can use http://hijackthis.de for hijackthis log analysis. Sometimes it’s not good enough for untrained eyes, but it will point out obvious problems.

Let us know if you have anymore problems!
