Hay all, I just recently reinstalled Avast 6.01 free. I noticed the Mail shield wasn’t scanning any incoming mail, show’s it running thought. Thought it was automatic? Anyway looked in help and there was no clear instructions to add individual mail accounts. I use Yahoo, Hotmail, Compuserve & gMail. Do I have to add each one sperately for it to scan them?
Avast only scans mail if you have an email client installed on your system ie outlook / thunderbird, as the email providers you have are all internet based email providers these will be scanned by the webshield.
