so recently as we all know there has been a new update. since this update i have found out that avast has been preventing me from executing some of my games. it is starting to annoy me how i must turn off avast real time shields every time i decide to launch a game. i’ve tried excluding the game’s path from all of the shields in the expert settings but that does not seem to work. any suggestions on how to fix this?
How is it happening? Is there an alert? Is it auto-sandboxing the game? Or are the games just failing to start?
What games are you speaking of?
no alert whatsoever, my game just doesnt open. however with the avast real time shields turned off it works perfectly fine. uhm i think they are mmo rpg games which open a window for the game itself (ie. Dragon Saga)
Does the game use an anti-cheat? In the case of online games, thats usually the cause, a conflict with the games anti-cheat.
As for the exclusions, see here to make sure you are setting them correctly>>https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1014 (skip the first half)
uhmm thanks for all the help, unfortunately my problem has still yet to be resolved ;(
my game does not launch any anti cheat or whatsoever. im aware that these exclusions means to exclude scan of the actions taken on the file, but do they have something that terminates the run or something? i dont see any options to turn off anything other than the scan itself
Next thing I would check is the Behavior Shield. Play with its settings (there are only a few), then if that fails try disabling it altogether.
ok so i set it to allow instead of auto decide for the monitor action + my exclusion of the game’s exe file already and still doesnt work, however i figured out it was the behaviour shield alone that has been disrupting my execution because if i disable it, the game runs. i think my game’s exe file having to open a patcher screen and me clicking play on that may have something to do with this? what that means is it opens a window and i click play on that window and it opens another window so the actual game might not be directly linked to the exe file itself. any suggestions on that?
So have you tried adding the game to the Trusted Processes list in the Braviour Shield?
Try unticking the box for monitor the system for unauthorized modifications in the BhS’s expert settings.
