help with ransomware+java exploit

Hi, thanks in advance for any help!

I got the FBI Moneypak virus yesterday–I have Avast IS, but it didn’t catch it.
I disconnected my router, restarted, and Avast caught the skype.dat trying to boot–I instructed it not to open and searched for all files modified within the hour, and ran an Avast scan on those. It found the following 3 viruses:

neitrino\Asdf3cvR55.class (---- VirusType---- Java:Agent-CON[Trj] )
neitrino\Tdsfdbte54.class (---- VirusType---- Java:Agent-COD[Expl] )
neitrino\XLR.class (---- VirusType---- Java:Agent-COD[Expl] )

After reading some of the posts here, today I reconnected router to download and run the following programs, in the following order
RogueKiller (scan, clean, and log)
adwCleaner (scan, clean, and log)
MBAM (scan, clean, and log)
OTL (scan and log)
aswMBR (scan and log)

I am attaching all logs-

Questions:

  1. How does it look? Do I have everything removed?

  2. Is there any way to determine if the malware was able to transmit anything back to the scammers (like my personal info, passwords, bank info, etc)?

  3. What else should I do?

when the removal expert is done, he will remove the tools used

removal experts are notified, it may take hours before one arrive so be patient…
they are usually here after work hours…european time

Looks like RogueKiller and MBAM took care of the residue, are you experiencing any problems ?

There was no indication of the zero access that comes with this so your passwords etc… are safe

Fantastic, that’s excellent news.

No, I’m not experiencing any problems, only 2 potential issues that I can think of:

First, around time of removal, 3 hidden files randomly appeared on desktop:

~$n[old filename].docx  ;  and 
 desktop.ini

Second, after initial Avast removal of 3 viruses, but before residual removal using RogueKiller and MBAM, I backed up files in MyDocuments onto an external hard drive. Is there a possibility I transferred the virus, and if so, is there a way to scan it?

No as the backup would not have contained the temp folder where the malware was

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean :thumbsup:

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
[*]Click Start.
[*]Open My Computer.
[*]Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[]Click OK.

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

you and @pondus seriously boost my faith in humanity. there will always be jackasses writing malware , but in the overall karma-balance of things, you (and the other removal experts here) more than make up for their jackassery.
