Help with removing viruses from my computer!!

Hi everyone,

I desperately in need of some help to solve a problem I am having with two files I found after running Avast on my computer labelled:

C:\Windows\System32\nsd712D.temp which has a status of “Threat Rootkit hidden” and is rated as “Severe”

C:\Windows\System32\nsy710D.temp which has a status of “Threat Rootkit hidden” and is rated as “Severe”

When I try to move them to the Virus Vault or delete these files I get an error message which reads:

“Error: The system cannot find the file specified”

Does anyone know what type of files these are? Are they viruses? Trojan Horses? And how can I get rid of them?

Any help that anyone can give me with theses files would be most welcome. Particularly how to remove them successfully.

Many thanks.

welcome to the forum.

i suggest a boot scan, and send the files to the chest.

and do a scan with malwarebytes anitmalware to get a second opion.

download install update a do a scan and don’t forget to remove what it finds. a system reboot might be necassary.

good luck and let us know on the progress or if you need more support.

Should you get a clean result back or unable to do anything after doing the boot scan or the MBAM scan, please check the information on the first post of this thread under Virus/Worms for you to check your machine for malware: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0.

Follow the directions for obtaining the OTS logs (save it [u]as ANSI and not Unicode). Post the OTS log as an attachment (Additional Options > Attach > Post).

Please do not make any further changes to your machine after you have provided the logs.

IMPORTANT: If you are on a home network, disconnect the affected machine from the network. Do not share a USB/flash drive with this affected machine. Do not use this machine unless instructed to do malware removal; use a different machine to check email, sync your phone, etc. if possible. Depending on your logs, we may need to refer you to our Certified Malware Expert.

Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.
