About a week ago, a Avast pop-up came up saying that a uninstaller for something called “Social Privacy DNS” was malware. I believe this program was installed with a freeware installer, and I did not pay attention when installing the program. I checked the control panel, and it was installed on 4/3/14. But also some Intel drivers were updated on the same day. So its either not a malicious program, and Avast just had a false positive, or it is just a malicious program. But if it is a malicious program, and Avast says the uninstaller is malware, how can I get rid of it? ???
Malware removal help is done in viruses and worms forum section … instructions at sticky post on top there
Im sorry. Is there a way I can remove it from here and send it to Malware removal?
Only the moderators can move posts to different sub-forums.
Given that you want to get under way quickly and not wait until a mod moves it (could be a while). So it really is quicker to create a new topic in the Viruses and Worms sub forum (new topic button at the top of the page) - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0.
Because of what uninstallers do, remove things, it is possible that it could be a false positive (being a program that has been on the system for a while, may support that). If you have the uninstaller in the avast chest, send it to the avast virus labs for analysis.
