Looking for help with virus warnings my Avast is finding: can someone help in non technical terms please?
I’m getting two warnings - file names are:
Process 1304 (amazon music helper.exe), memory block 0x00000000000CC0000, block size 5947392 (amazon music helper.exe)
Process 1784 (explorer.exe), memory block 0x00000000072070000, block size 659456 (ashShell.dll)
Both are medium, with 'Threat:Win32:Evo-gen (Susp) at the end.
I’ve run Malwarebytes, which has found nothing, have deleted amazon music from my PC but keep getting these two warnings. Avast isn’t giving me an option to put them in the chest and I just don’t know what to do.
Could anyone offer some advice to a young pensioner ?
Avast isn't giving me an option to put them in the chest and I just don't know what to do.
because it is a detected process in memory and not a file that can be moved / deleted ... so no option to do anything
anyway, the reason for this detection is you changing the default scan settings
unless you are a super geek that know something the avast dews dont know, i recomend staying with default scan settings for a problem free avast
remember that the avast guys have played with malware for 20 years, so they know how and what works
detection in memory was this forums second most frequently asked question, so lots of info in old topics if you search
because it is a detected process in memory and not a file that can be moved / deleted ... so no option to do anything
Thanks for this - does it mean I don’t have to worry?! I’ve tried reading older posts and other pages but they are gobbledygook to me. I was brought up on typewriters, carbon copies and correction fluid!
