My computer has been infected! What do I do? I did what the program suggested, and I moved the files to the chest… but now what?

Please note that the last three files listed are system files

Lets deal with the important first, the last three files may well be system files, but when they are in the System Files section of the avast chest they are back-up copies just in case these essential files get infected. The others should be in the Infected Files section and that is where they should be.

You have done the right thing, ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate.

There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, they can’t do any harm there. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a week or two. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.
