I just installed avast on another computer. I ran the first scan that it has you do after installation and when my computer restarted after the scan was finished an internet explorer widnow opened and closed and now I have a file download window asking if I want to download “551.qit” Does this normally happen?

May I ask where you got your copy avast?
There are sites selling fraudulent copies of avast which may also include spyware.
