help...

How can I analysis the type of ram and hard disk in my computer, because I want to add the ram and hard disk space…Is there any software or program can check that?

There is a handy tool Everest from http://www.lavalys.com/ that gives much information on your system, this should help in your upgrade quest. Unfortunately this latest version no longer has a free version but you could probably get a copy of the old Everest Home version from here, http://www.filehippo.com/download_everest_home/.

When adding RAM, the motherboard and existing RAM is the main consideration. You can use www.crucial.com as they have an on-line checker

There is a tool that you can download to check what your HDD is (see Everest link above) and again it is your motherboard that would restrict the HDD type you can use (IDE or SATA1 or SATA2).

If you have an old computer it will probably support only IDE hard disks, more recent system motherboards would support both IDE and SATA1, very recent ones would support all three types IDE, SATA1 & 2.

sorry misread the answer… :-[

Hello there! It is my first time and not too sure how can I ask a Q. Could you let me know how can I ask one?

Thank you
