I have had the free Avast for a year and it’s been fine. I followed the link to upgrade and bought three years of upgrade and renewal. It didn’t ask me to reboot or use the key, which arrived safely. When I go onto the avast little ball thing on the bottom of the desktop it’s still urging me to upgrade, and the reminders are still coming! I have notifications and reciepts and all, but what else have I not done? I did restart the computer anyway in case… J
Try reinstalling the license key.
Right click on avast tray icon, about avast, license key button, paste the license key, Ok button.
See the tutorial: http://www.avast.com/files/tutorials/insert_key.htm
Please take a look here: http://www.avast.com/eng/faq-invalid-license-number.html
Is your system date/time correct?
Do you use copy & paste method?
Are you sure you do not include the ‘last blank space’ in the paragraph while copying & pasting?
I wasn’t asked for the licence key at any point. I had it copied ready to paste… I’ll try what the first reply suggests- - thanks
Yeah, this is how it works. You need to manually add the license key to upgrade. You add the key and avast does everything else (download, install, etc.).
Thanks both of you, I think I’ve done it now. Cheers… hey, Brazil and Australia! Do you get paid for this or do you do this for fun??!
