Help

Can someone here tell me where to get help? I have tried support on numerous occastions and never receive any response.

I have been a customer for several years. I have done everything to get rid of a problem that began a few months ago. There is a program or something else on my computer that I can’t get rid of. I don’t even know what it is or what is causing the action I discuss below. Avast can’t find what is causing it when scans are done but I am really getting sick and tired of it.

Any time that I am online a box appears in the lower right screen with ads in it. Every time I click to another link, there it goes again. It’s called ads by ArcadeCake. Also at the same time a new tab appears in the upper right of the screen that pulls up another link to another advertising site: http://crpsro.com

Why is it that Avast doesn’t detect it and toss it? Can you help?

OK lets have a look see

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Select additions at the bottom
[*]Press Scan button.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/frst.JPG

[*]It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
[*]Please attach both logs generated.

Thank you! I will give this a try. So nice to hear from someone!

Hi Again,

I’m getting a message that this type of file is not normally downloaded and could be harmful to my computer. Is it okay to proceed? I’m not a techie by any means so just let me know it will be ok to do this?

thanks

Yes if it is windows click the more info link and select download/run anyway

Okay, scan is finally finished. Here are the files.

Did you get the files - Was it you that has downloaded them twice? Do I have to remove this post and am I now at risk? Just askin.

You can remove the logs now if you so wish

After this run let me know what problems remain

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/FRSTfix.JPG

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

Sorry, I got knocked off. Still scanning. Will reply when complete.

If you wish to remove the logs you attached, just navigate to the post they are in and click the Modify button in that post. When the Modify screen appears click the ‘Attachments and other options’ that you used to attach them.

You should then be able to remove the those attachments, see image example, click to expand.

It was me who also downloaded them.

Okay, it finally finished. Log is attached. Closing down for your final step.

Okay, here you go. I had to run it twice as it failed half way through, not sure why. Anyway, the final report is attached. It’s “almost” gone. There is now a popup with an error read that comes up every time I add or change a link. Not getting the ad anymore nor the new tab at the top of the browser, but I do get this error read instead:

RunDLL

There was a problem starting C:\Users\Patty
Baldwin\AppData\Local\ArcadeCake\cakebake.dll

The specified module could not be found.

I’ve just realized that I now have one more situation. After running all of this stuff I have lost all my games. Everything…10 years worth. If you could let me know about that screen that keeps coming up, I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello essexboy, did you get that adw cleaner log? I’m attaching it here again.

Thank you.

Are you still getting the rundll error

Yes, almost constantly now whenever the computer does anything. That seems to be the only problem however.

Could you run a fresh FRST scan please so that I can find out where it is launching from

Hi, Just got your reply. I have a fresh scan running. Is there anyway that I can get a notice when you post? Then I won’t be wasting your time.

At the top of the thread is a notify button
