Here we go again....trojan Avast targetted

This has come completely out of the blue!

Went to go on Facebook last night and Avast popped up a warning saying there was a threat. Ran a quick scan and it’s highlighted a raft of virus’s which i’ve put into the chest.

What next please?

Should add that i’ve just run a scan on MWB and it’s not picking up anything?

go to virus chest and send it to virus lab

can it be bc of this ?

Yeah just seen this and it’s exactly what happened to me last night! Couldn’t get on FB or on here!

What do I need to do?

in some case,i think it could be a false detection. Why don’t we send it to check again?

If you guys haven’t already done so, update your virus definitions, then see if you continue to have problems.

If your avast is updated, then i guess you have already done it

what files did avast move to chest ?

Just updated Avast successfully, now re-scanning so will tell you in a mo whether it’s picked anything up.

when you say what did it move to the chest, do you mean what are the names of the viruses?

i think the effectiveness of “summit to virus lab” option is really strong. The result can come in a short time

malware name and where was it found ?

Or a screenshot of your virus chest would work.

@ANHTHU5991 did you read this

Re-scanned and nothing.

There are tons are different named viruses, too many to type! How do I get rid of these from the chest?

as scythe944 suggested, a screen shot…

Actually, it’s not important to clean them out of the chest. More importantly, you should KEEP them there in case you need to restore them, or scan them again with a newer definition file.

If you don’t want to type all of the files that are in the chest, try making a screenshot and post it here so we can see what you’re talking about. Windows Vista / 7 comes with a snipping tool to create screenshots with, if you’re on XP, you can use snippy: http://www.bhelpuri.net/Snippy/

oh, i did not read this information. I used to sent a file to virus lab. It is a good decision. Perhaps, i should go to avast blog regularly

Or just follow directions. Pondus posted that link right after your first post in this thread (it was the third or fourth post in).

He had to post it a second time for you to read it.

Aargh, it’s too big to attach!

Can’t compress it for some reason. Happy to e-mail it to one of you if you want?
