for some reason my avast free version has stopped working and i tried to uninstall it to reinstall it and i can’t even do that . i just keep getting errors …
What are the errors ?
What is the full avast version number, e.g. 7.0.1456 ?

Then install 7.0.1456 
Switch it of and then switch it on again!
Won’t resolve the problem being reported a clean reinstall is the best option.
thanks guys all fixed now i had to go into safe mode though
Yes you have to go into safe mode to run the uninstall utility other wise the self-defence module may have blocked the tool.
